A true cold-hardy variety marked by resilience in the vineyard, Louise is feminine and complicated. Her hardiness is balanced by her intricacies and sophistication. Of German origin, Louise means “famous warrior.” While she has not reached fame quite yet, her thick, deeply rooted 2005 vines—the oldest in our vineyard—validate Louise as a warrior. A trust in her strength and complexities has been vital in our journey as farmers and winemakers.
